Can I travel on STEM OPT while my extension is pending?
My STEM OPT extension is filed but still pending. Is it safe to travel internationally and re-enter, or should I wait for the new EAD?

Travel while the STEM extension is pending is risky — if asked at re-entry it can be hard to prove status. Most attorneys advise waiting for the new EAD. If you must travel, carry the I-797 receipt, current EAD, I-20, and an employment letter.
